Here is the list, to date, of local businesses giving senior or fixed discounts. This is a work in progress, and as I learn of more businesses that participate, I will provide updates. Some businesses I have spoken with are now considering adding a senior discount.

Re: UPDATE - Re: Buy Local - Senior Discounts
As far as I know, The Salvation Army only does the 50% off for seniors on Tuesdays; they give 15% off any day if you ask for it, and they give 50% off for anyone on Fridays.

Re: Buy Local - Senior Discounts
i am not sure that Oliver's is a local business but they have a senior day 10% off on Wednesdays 7:30 am until 4:00 pm. They define seniors as 60 years or older.
Santa Rosa Community Market is my favorite place to shop and offer 10% off for seniors on everyday with a "T" in it, Tuesday, Thursday and SaTurday.

The three Oliver's stores in Sonoma County are locally owned by Steve Moss, who used to sell produce from the back of his truck in the 70s. They sell local products as much as possible. And I recommend Imwalle Gardens farm on West 3rd Street, Santa Rosa, for fresh produce at great prices -- I'm not sure if they offer "boomer" discount.

Petaluma Market, Western & 5th St., Petaluma, has senior (55+) 10% discount every day.
