The Contagion Myth explores the concept of contagion as a source of disease, beginning with the germ theory as formulated by Louis Pasteur and Robert Koch. The book presents alternative explanations for diseases such as small pox and malaria, noting that these illnesses have not satisfied the common-sense Koch's Postulates criteria, namely the isolation of a bacteria or virus and observation of disease when the organism is introduced into a healthy animal host.
