Been to Idaho? tell me your reccomendations!
I went to Idaho once and enjoyed many hot springs in the southern third of the state. I would love to know if you explored any further north and have any tips or places to suggest such as great EASY and SHORT hikes t, where to camp without being at a paid campsite, and, of course, more hot spring ideas. Not sure how much is open up there with Covid.
Thanks! Any ex- Wacco/Sebastopolians up there???

Been a long time but
Always liked Hailey, just south of Sun Valley. Back then it was just beginning to be a rich tourist town (I think Bruce Willis bought the good local bar just after I had spent my time there). But beautiful area - and like many rich tourist towns, the locals are awesome.
Over on the western side Driggs and Victor were incredible. Driggs was somewhat richer and Victor was a hotbed of hippies, Earth Firsters! and weed growers.
All 3 have lots of beautiful land around, and some amazing hot springs, though it's been too long to give accurate recommendations.

ahhhh...Idaho is beautiful....although I don't know too many places there, as we were there recently just to be with relatives.....let me describe one little experience, at Super1food, in Idaho, just over the border from Newport, WA, that vaguely resembles Oliver's, a mix of regular supermarket with "health food", though a lot of their healthy stuff seemed to have been sitting on the shelves for awhile...
we walked in wearing masks, and immediately noticed no one else seemed to be....not a single employee - and when we asked them questions like locations of items, they seemed nervous, and moved away quickly , though they did answer....and after a half hour in the store we observed, of about a hundred shoppers, 3 elderly people with masks.....when my partner took her cart up to check out, the checker gave a snarl, and slapped down her "lane closed" sign....
ahhhhh, Idaho....
last year when we went, we were kayaking on a lake, where we turned a corner, and ran into a group of houses with Confederate flags, Trump signs, and other signs of hate...
here's a link to an article on hate groups in Idaho:
https://patch.com/idaho/boise/idaho-...hate-map-shows
and, I'd be interested if you want to share your experiences after going...the natural beauty there is certainly amazing

Lived in Lewiston Idaho on the Washington boarder. It’s been 20 years ago but lived there for 8 years. The Nez Perce Indian Reservation, casino are right outside of town. Also the Spalding museum(big foot sightings) are also there. It’s right on the Confluence, where the two rivers meet it’s beautiful. If you are into fishing it’s the Steelhead Capital. Also there are a couple of dams that are pretty cool. Up north is also beautiful. In Lewiston is the State college and up the hill from there is 2 universities.

beautiful state, they allow open carry, they welcome people from California as long as you do not bring your liberal views there, as they want to remain a very conservative Red state.
