Donald Trump was emotionally traumatized in childhood
At last a psychologist, Trump's niece Mary, is commenting on Trump. She has first hand knowledge of Donald Trump's childhood emotional abuse. I have been calling attention for over a year to the way in which Trump's childhood emotional trauma forms the unconscious which then guides his adult behavior. Trump caves in to Putin because Trump was emotionally abused by his own father. Trump learned in childhood that to avoid punishment and shaming and abandonment he had to obey Fred Trump, Sr. Donald saw the price his older brother paid for asserting himself. Donald Trump projects his father onto Putin, Bolsonaro, Kim Jong-Un, Bibi, Duterte. Trump is a horribly psychologically damaged person. None of this excuses his behavior. All the congressional Republicans who support Trump out of fear of his angry reprisals are also projecting their fathers onto Donald Trump. The citizens who voted for Trump are also projecting their fathers onto Trump. We citizens need to be much more informed about the psychological health of the people we nominate and elect to office.

Re: Donald Trump was emotionally traumatized in childhood
Given the immense amount of damage a maladjusted politician (Barr, McConnell, Trump, Pence) can do, we should impose conditions on the qualifications for running for office. These conditions should be similar to what we require of a psychotherapist: a license. A person should have to earn a license to run for office. Requirements would include: a four year degree, a two year master's level degree in a related field like political science, a low-paid internship working in a clinic under supervision, and then having to pass two grueling exams. After that the licensee could run for office. America was founded on the idea of citizen politicians. That is no longer tenable as evidenced by Louis Gomert or Jim Jordan or Donald Trump.

So the real question is: "Who's yer daddy?"
