that's the part I care about. It sucks to be sick, but low(ish) odds of dying make it easier to take risks. But odds of living the rest of your life with these kinds of impairments are high enough to make me cautious.
I can understand why pro athletes don't want to go back to work. A little long-term damage to your breathing will essentially end your career.

Six months ago, none of us could have imagined how our world – and our lives – would be thrown into turmoil by this new virus.
First, Your health is in your hands: Physical distancing. Hand hygiene. Covering coughs. Staying home if you feel sick. Wearing masks when appropriate. Only sharing information from reliable sources. You may be in a low-risk category.
Second, Suppress transmissionEnsure that health workers have PPE. Improve surveillance to find casesTracing and quarantining contacts.
Third, save lives.Early identification and clinical care saves lives.Providing oxygen and dexamethasone, saves lives.And paying special attention to high-risk groups, including elderly people in long-term care facilities, saves lives.Japan has done this: it has one of the highest populations of elderly people, but its death rate is low.
Fourth, accelerate researchWHO convening a meeting.
And fifth, political leadershipNational unity and global solidarity are essential. Comprehensive strategy to suppress transmission, save lives and minimize the social and economic impact of the virus.
Other points. These five priorities, listed above, can turn the tide. How to live with this virusThat is the new normal. Most people remain susceptible. The virus still has a lot of room to moveThis is not even close to being over. Globally the pandemic is actually speeding up. Long haul.
