More gaslighting from the Trumpsters

"Rather than engage with the substance of any of those objections to how his government responded to the global pandemic, Trump reacted as he does to any criticism, by claiming that the only possible explanation for it is that the person who leveled it has invented a false charge to undermine him politically."


It is fascinating how Trump and the Republicans frame any factual criticism of Trump as an attempt to harm him politically. In fact, Trump's lies and corruption SHOULD HARM HIM POLITICALLY because his actions are HARMFUL for America. Trump's critics are telling the truth about Trump's actions. It is a very clever form of gaslighting to claim that actions that should harm Trump politically because the actions are corrupt are designed to harm him politically and are therefore false.

Using my psychotherapist's glasses I can see exactly what Trump's childhood was like. Trump had a constant conflict with his older brother, Fred. Donald would torment Fred and Fred would complain to his mother or father. Then Donald would say, "Fred is only saying that to get me in trouble." A principle of therapy informed by the workings of the unconscious is that the contents of the unconscious which was formed in childhood can be recognized by adult behavior.

Continuing with this line of reasoning, it is obvious from Trump's behavior at age 73 what his childhood behavior was like. Trump was the kind of sibling who picked on his brother and sister. When no one was looking he pinched them or poked them or gave them a "wet willie." Trump created chaos as a child. That's how he maintained a connection with his mother especially and his father, somewhat. Trump creates chaos today. Every single day there is new chaos. Take away food stamps! Deny medical benefits! Cancel unemployment insurance! Threaten Iran! Threaten China! Leave the Paris Accord! Everything Trump does creates more and more chaos. No one can ever relax. No one can ever enjoy life. Nothing is stable. There is no serenity. Trump is the Chaos President.

Every day brings a new dose of chaos. Today Trump says he will take the US out of the Open Skies Treaty that has kept us safer for three decades. He has single-handedly withdrawn the U.S. from treaties with North Korea. He has just this week announced he will terminate unemployment benefits. He is trying to stop Medicade and Medicare and Social Security. He's overturned EPA regulations that have made our air safer to breathe. Everything is under attack. Oh, wait. Nothing that benefits corporations or the wealthy is under attack. Chaos of citizens; calm peacefulness and prosperity for corporations. Chaos. Chaos. Chaos. Corona virus chaos. Global warming chaos.
