IRS GET MY PAYMENT update and heads up
Not sure if this is the right section to put this, but wanted to get it out there.
Three or four days ago, someone posted up a link to the IRS webpage titled 'Get My Payment'. I went there. After attempting to log in for three consecutive days, and each time being informed my information was not available (after three attempts in one day, you have to wait another 24 hours before trying again) I called the folks who do my taxes for some insight. They told me the 'Get My Payment' basically been shut down due to being overwhelmed, is not accessible, and is NOT SECURE. They told me DON'T enter any personal information.
That's it. So, don't go there. It's not working.

A friend sent me this link but it pretty much echoes the IRS Site:

Re: IRS GET MY PAYMENT update and heads up
It worked today for me. Said they were mailing in May 1. They have my direct deposit info. Not sure why they are mailing it.
Man oh man they are printing money. Maybe I'll take the payment and buy more gold. Cash has been king but it won't be for long.

Re: IRS GET MY PAYMENT update and heads up
Has anyone gotten info from this site? We get our SS by direct deposit, but this site won't acknowledge that we exist. I've been trying daily since the git-go. I'd love to know if the site has worked for anyone. — Elizabeth Fuller

Same here. Been at it almost daily, with the same results. Nothing. Then I read from another WACCO member who says it worked for them. I have yet to file my 2019 tax return, but that should not matter, according to what I read. The IRS has my tax info from 2018. Very puzzling.

Took a few tries but the site gave me an answer. “Your check will be coming but we can’t say when yet.
Re: IRS GET MY PAYMENT update and heads up
I don't know if this applies for you but if you are an SS recipient getting paid by direct deposit and also, a non-filer for 2018-19, you will not be listed on this site. This is described in the fine print. Rather you will be paid automatically bu direct deposit and that actually should have happened yesterday (Wed.) or today. Good luck...
Re: IRS GET MY PAYMENT update and heads up
I could not get anything from the site until about 2 days ago when it told me I was approved and asked for my bank info for deposit. Since I am a war tax resister, I do not want to give them any extra info, so I will wait till they mail it.
Re: IRS GET MY PAYMENT update and heads up
We are also waiting for paper checks for similar reasons. We'll see how long that takes!
Re: IRS GET MY PAYMENT update and heads up
The thing they don't address is if you have SSDI and are a filer (tiny amount, long story). I entered my info again, and even though they already have my bank info, twice, they are now saying I will be mailed a check. No explanation why. One thing I saw was that for some folks even if you give them your bank info, they don't have "permission" to direct deposit so they will mail to your address. I'm not sure why that preempts their ability to direct deposit for SSDI. What a mess.
Re: IRS GET MY PAYMENT update and heads up
To get your stimulus check direct deposited you need to supply the irs w/ your checking account, there is a site
to enter that number. You can also have the check mailed to you.
maybe you can call them, but good luck w/that.
