Re: Best of Political Humor - February 2020
I found this (the first) definition of TDS in the Urban Dictionary:
TDS
Trump Derangement Syndrome, is the unwavering adoration and devotion to a political leader, beginning with Donald Trump, the namesake of the disorder, extending to other forms of leadership including presidents and rulers typically of a fascist or populist nature. While the name is meant to have pejorative connotations, the actual condition is characterized primarily by behaviors found in in "cult of leader" or "cult of personality" scenarios.

A typical trick of the left, accuse the opposition of what you're doing. (ref. Alinsky)
Also, you fell victim to Google's prioritization of far left liberal thought and anti-conservative bias in its search results.
Had you looked further you would have found the real, original definition.
Trump Derangement Syndrome is the term used to describe the irrational despair, hysteria, and hatred liberals, establishment token conservatives, and the mainstream media have for U.S. President Donald Trump and anything related to him. Democrats and far left liberals, traumatized by Trump's 2016 election victory, started making many hysterical, over-the-top predictions of what a Trump presidency would bring about, including predictions that people would die because of Trump's policies. Left-wingers labeled themselves as the "resistance" against Trump and called for his impeachment before his Inauguration, despite not having committed any legally impeachable offenses.
Evidence of TDS includes characterizing EVERYTHING Trump as bad.

I see that you have failed to cite your source (for your definition) once again. (A typical trick of the Right?)
Google was not my search engine.
The definition I quoted was the first on the Urban Dictionary site. You might want to check out the ensuing definitions. :-)

Oh, I think these are a bit better, Ray, although I'm not sure I entirely "get" numbers 1 and 4.

Speaking of Pete Butt, I attended David Talbot's talk in Sonoma today about the dark government that's been active in this country since WWII. Talbot is supporting Bernie. He said Mayor Pete is most likely a CIA plant, given his record in Military Intelligence (counterterrorism in Afghanistan) and all his endorsements from CIA and similar agencies. The bulk of his funding comes from big corporations. Pete is also linked to the company that produced the app that torched the Iowa caucus results, Shadow Inc, having given them a large donation ($42,000).
Talbot is a meticulous researcher who has impeccable credentials and knows what he is talking about.
"David Talbot is a journalist, author, and media executive. He is the founder and former Editor-in-Chief of the early web magazine, Salon..
"Salon gained a large following and broke several national news stories after its founding in 1995. It was described by Entertainment Weekly as one of the Net's "few genuine must-reads." Since leaving Salon, Talbot has written about the Kennedy Assassination, the Dulles Brothers, and other areas that he calls our "hidden history." He has worked as a senior editor at Mother Jones Magazine and has written for the San Francisco Chronicle, Time Magazine, the New Yorker, Rolling Stone, and several other national publications." - From Praxis Peace Institute

The disrespect ("Pete Butt") and nonstop slamming of Pete coming out of the BernieMediaVerse (notice none of the links referenced are not-biased), is really quite astounding.

But I liked #3 much more than #1! If you substitute "use taxation for publicly funded education and healthcare", it wouldn't be so funny, but it would be what Bernie actually says and stands for. But you don't need any changes with the Petie cartoon: seems pretty descriptive of what occurred.
Re: Best of Political Humor - February 2020
I guess the degree of bias in a beholder's eyes is directly related to the degree to which the beholder agrees with what is being said.
I could say the same thing about your Mayor Pete references, Barry, coming out of mainstream, corporate media.

"CIA plant" is quite a charge, but he's certainly very mainstream. Just because he's gay and has a pre-boomer openness to social issues doesn't make him particularly liberal, except here in America where there's never been much of a political left. He's always impressed me as being very reasonable and intelligent, which is a good thing. Remember that Obama too wasn't much of a lefty either, even about that gay marriage thing. I wouldn't expect Buttigieg with his military and midwestern background to be any different than he presents. I'm not surprised the CIA and corporate worlds would be perfectly comfortable with him, and he wouldn't be my choice to overthrow either. Those goals aren't really front-of-mind these days, I think, but I do find it weird that the Democrats have been forced to look at the FBI, CIA and the generals as their allies against the status quo!
Re: Best of Political Humor - February 2020
I guess the "Pete Butt" epithet is inevitable, but actually I've been quite astonished and delighted that an openly gay man has been able to rise to such popular heights in an election process for President of the USA! Mayor was amazing enough! Whatever you can say about his possibly dodgy funding sources, I would never have imagined that such a turn of events could be possible in what has always seemed to be our very homophobic American culture. I'm stunned! I don't know how to process it! Am I dreaming?
