Hello, I’m working on a book and I am wondering if there are other writers in Sebastopol and/or groups for connection, to talk process, maybe soundboard etc. My work is nonfiction but I’m open to various genre oriented writers.
I’m not looking for instruction or a paid class or proofing or editing services… Or anything of that nature.
I appreciate any leads or interest that you may have!

In Lake County there is a writer support group called "the Writers' Circle"; it has grown large enough to change to "the Writers' Rectangle." It is sponsored by the local arts council organization.
I'm interested in participating. Especially if we can get a group assembled.
Writing is my avocation: illustration and carpentry, my vocations; humor and world changing ideals are my passions. Find your voice and use strong verbs! Twenty years ago wrote a page with 27 forms of 'is' on it, quite humbling. I recommend Ursula Le Guin's Steering The Craft and of course the timeless Elements of Style and the International Thesaurus. What nonfiction genre are you writing? Science? Material organization? Self help Meditation, or other spiritual techniques? Biography? Childcare and birth? Nutrition? Healing? Keep writing, and as Twain said "The difference between the almost right word and the right word is really a large matter—'tis the difference between the lightning-bug and the lightning.
The Sebastopol Area Senior Center also has 2 weekly writer's groups.
