Auto Insurance recommendations wanted
Hi Waccobites; At this time I'd like to start a conversation about auto insurance. What prompts me is my dissatisfaction with the way I have been treated by various carriers including Progressive and AAA as well as certain claims made against USAA and one other I forget the carrier.
Can you recommend a company which is fair, honest and prompt both as insurer and payer of claims. My best experience in claim was with
1) State Farm who did not dicker or hem and haw but just paid the claim. There was a police report on that one and it was pretty straight forward as I was rear-ended.
2) I was shocked when USAA refused to give me full value on my loss even though their covered driver was backing out onto a state highway that I was traveling within the speed limit. They offered me only 80% of my loss saying I should have avoided his backing up onto the road. The police report on that one stated he was at fault. USAA also dragged it out for a couple of months leaving me high and dry in hot summer.
Any suggestions appreciated as to Agent and/or carrier.
