there have been a couple of pieces on 60 mins on german prisons, which are not based on punishment, but on healing.
it is hard for people to come out of our systems whole. the lack of sleep, the potential for rape, bad food, need money for adequate protein.
people are being locked up regularly because they don't have housing, & they need services. sometimes a little food, a couple of rides a week & some work that isn't too physical on bodies that need help.
a horrible waste of money and a cruel unfair system.
there are so many solutions to keep people out!!!

Rectify, a wonderful show on netflix has some good looks at incarceration & the criminal non justice process. (a drama, very well done, sundance films).
