Winter supplies for STANDING ROCK
Dear Ones,
Car with trailer going to Standing Rock in 2 weeks (December 5th). Space to bring out much needed supplies: blankets, sleeping bags, sweaters, warm pants, rain gear, socks, gloves, scarves, shawls, hats (all wool preferably), boots, jerky, meal bars, medical supplies, thermoses, other helpful/supportive things for freezing temperatures...
Please send prayers and unite with your community.
Solidarity,
Rachel & Sahdjoo :yinyang::heart::heart::waccosun:

Re: Winter supplies for STANDING ROCK
This post confuses me. At the Arlene Francis Center event last Sunday by KPFA journalist Miguel M. Molina he specifically said that the Native Americans do NOT want blankets, given the history of small pox infecting them through blankets. He said that they mainly need wood, to keep warm. Perhaps others who were there could help clarify this issue.

Re: Winter supplies for STANDING ROCK
They definitely do want blankets. I heard a Standing Rock leader on a KPFA interview a few nights ago clearly expressing the need for warm blankets and wool clothing. It's well below zero there and many Native people and allies are not prepared for the sub-freezing temperatures. Any warm things we can get out there will be well-used. And of course, wood is a great contribution as well. Someone told me today they also want propane tanks.

Has the question of blankets/clothing been confirmed does anyone know > standing rock
Re: Winter supplies for STANDING ROCK
I would go to this website.
It is, as far as I can tell, not up to date but it is from the Native Americans themselves.
Some of the footage from Standing Rock has a recent date but is from a few days ago, so, with the confusion and emotions running high there (and here) it is not surprising in my judgment.
I am still interested in anyone traveling there and would like to connect with them.
