My beautiful, 8 year old, female Akita needs a good home AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Akina (spring flower in Japanese) is like an 80lb teddy bear. She has a sweet, high energy temperament, but cannot live with other dogs, cats or livestock.
She needs to be the only pet in the household. Only nurturing animal lovers need reply.

Nancy, help may be available, but you do need to fill in the blanks. How long have you had the dog? What are the issues? Has the dog hurt an animal or person? Has the dog been trained to obey commands? Tell us the whole story, please.

Can you give us more details, Nancy? Why does she need to be re-homed? At her age, what are her health issues as well as behavioral? Have you contacted Akita and other rescue organizations and what do they recommend? Please give us more details so we can be helpful. Thanks!

I found a good Akita rescue yesterday and she is there now. I feel good that they will find her an appropriate new home.
