The Most Profound Emotion
"The most beautiful and most profound emotion we can experience is the sensation of the mystical. It is the sower of all true science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead.
To know what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty which our dull faculties can comprehend only in their most primitive forms, this knowledge, this feeling is at the center of true enlightenment.
— Albert Einstein
Re: The Most Profound Emotion
I like this quote. However, there are also other candidates for "the most beautiful and most profound emotion."
Love would be one, though it is more than merely an emotion. It is best when it includes commitment, communication, and thinking. It is wonderful to know that such a great scientist as Einstein was also interested in "the mystical."

Re: The Most Profound Emotion
When he mentioned the mystical, I believe he embraced Love as well. For me I cannot separate the two.... the expansive feeling of the Infinite is what Love can be describe as.
Locally our IONS community is doing a great job reconciling the mystical and the scientific. Wonderful people.
