Referral needed for Gastro Dr.
Hi Group! Thanks to those of you who responded with referrals for a Naturopath. We found one who will work well for us. Great that there are so many in Sebastopol who are kind and knowledgeable!
Now we are looking for an open minded Gastroenterologist MD - one who might be aware or or open to alternative and complementary medicine, while still working in the mainstream - so that tests can be ordered etc. Would be great if it's someone who takes Medicare. Can be located anywhere in the area (outside of Sebastopol is OK). If you've had a positive experience with a Gastro Dr., I'd love to hear about it!
Thanks,
Cindy

Re: Referral needed for Gastro Dr.
I would not suggest using Dr Auld. He makes many mistakes. He does not read your records in advance of your app't. He prescribes many dangerous medications and methods, so be careful. He does not know much about natural treatments, although he will agree with you if you insist that this is what you want. He almost put me in the emergency room by making a serious error as well as trying to convince me that I needed a surgery that I did not need. I went to a specialist and learned that I did not need this surgery and the diagnosis I was given was incorrect.
Yes, he is kind and appears to be caring, until you catch him in a serious error that can cost you your health or maybe your life. I was fooled by him for many years. I thought he knew more than he did. It is a marketing ploy. We all have choices. I suggest double checking everything any doctor tells you and ultimately reading and asking many questions to as many experts as you can possibly find if you have a serious condition. Then go deep inside of yourself and make the choice that feels right for you. Sometimes lifestyle habits and deep work within one self can make a big difference. Usually there is no instant fix. We need to get the proper diagnosis, then decide what we need to do to be well. The AMA trains their doctors and lots of conflicts of interest exist.

Re: Referral needed for Gastro Dr.
22 years ago he was the ONLY doctor in this area who knew anything about Hep C...not a lot but not one doctor, not one clinic (Occidental on the list) knew anything whatsoever! and he did not send me off for unnecessary tests, and didn't suggest i go along with a procedure that works on a very few...i personally did not qualify for inteferon...and doctors were advising this treatment no matter what kind of Hep C you had. So, i think he is only an MD and doesn't prescribe to enough alternative treatment, but at least he didn't throw everything at you and see if it worked.
