Looking for low-impact tie dye: Monte Rio folks or others in the area?
Hi Wacco,
If you know how to contact the folks who sell and/or make tie dye in Monte Rio...
Or, if you know someone in the area who knows how to dye clothing in a no- to low-toxic way...
could you, please, send me their contact information?
I am planning to buy blank white clothing and would love to be able to add some color.
Thanks,
Jen

Jen, I don't know if this process will be useful for you, but it is low toxic:
bundle cloth as you would for tie dying.
color surfaces with permanent color ink pens
thouroughly wet cloth with sprayed on mix of 1/2 rubbing alcohol, 1/2 water mixture
unbundle
let dry
fix ink in hot dryer for about 10 minutes
or instead of bundling, you can paint designs and then spray with mixture as above. This bleeds the ink in interesting ways.
The difference between this process and actually dipping-dying is you have to use a lot of pens to get full coverage of your white cloth.

Jen -- check out Dharma Trading Co. ... they have all the supplies and I'm sure you can find eco-friendly ones. They are located in San Rafael, but have an excellent catalog that I've used for years for craft and tie-dye supplies. https://www.dharmatrading.com/

Jen are you only out for tie dye or do you want some art on it. I wanted to show you what I can do for your blank clothes!
