Non-toxic hair salon/stylist
Hi Community ~
My hair stylist is retiring, and I'm questing a new one. Main consideration (apart from haircutting talent ) is a non-toxic or low-toxic salon environment. I bring my own hair care products, but need to be able to breathe during the time I'm there. Willing to travel anywhere in Sonoma County and possibly Marin for an eco-salon, and/or for someone willing to creatively adapt. Example of what I mean: my longtime stylist usually scheduled me for the first appointment of the day, prior to colors, perms, etc., and/or on days she was working solo in the salon, so there'd be a much lower level of noxious fumes than typically.
Thanks for all leads!

Peter Lu, co-owner of a shop across from the Sebastopol Library called Putto & Gargoyle, gives haircuts in the back of the shop on Sundays and Thursdays by appointment. No chemical odors from shop and no salon products are used. He has a shampoo sink and will wash your hair with your preferred shampoo, or you can show up with clean wet hair he'll comb out and cut. Reasonable price, too. 829-8701

Have you considered Troy Michael Salons? They use Aveda products, which are mostly natural plant-based formulas.
Re: Non-toxic hair salon/stylist
Thanks, Celia! I bring my own products; it's the other salon activities (perms, color, etc) that make most hair salons challenging.
There have been several good referrals on Wacco so I think I'm good to go. this community!
