Vineyard Well Driller Ruptures Water Main in Forestville - 610,000 gallons water lost!!!

Vineyard development is destroying the countryside. Eco systems are being irrevocably impacted. Wildlife is being displaced and their feeding and breeding territories are diminishing. Underground aquifers are being depleted at alarming rates in California. Toxic pesticides, insecticides, fungicides and herbicides are being dumped on the land. With the "Right to Farm" ordinance, vineyard developers are buying up copious tracts of land and drilling very deep wells (500 ft. or more.) In a time of such unprecedented drought, grape growers are applying for more well permits than ever before.

I fail to understand how a long-time respected well drilling company and long-time employee would NOT know where water mains are located. That's their business! Feeling "sick" isn't enough. The owner of this land along with the owner of the well drilling company share complete culpability.

We have only so much water and we all must share the earth's resources. Government CANNOT and SHOULD NOT be allowed to favor business over the needs of humanity and wildlife. The earth is humanity's birthright.

It's enough already.
