Another Pedestrian Accident
Another pedestrian accident in Sebastopol, this time fatal. The two Hwy., 116 & 12, going through Sebastopol are the jurisdiction of three (Sebastopol Police, Sonoma County Sheriff and the CHP) law enforcement agencies and yet the existing traffic laws are not enforced. The danger to pedestrians, bikers and drivers is ongoing and a detriment to our community. How many more incidents will it take for those entrusted with public safety to have existing laws enforced?

Re: Another Pedestrian Accident
this had nothing to do with traffic law enforcement. this was a modern crosswalk with flashing lights, the driver has not been cited, from the time and weather it is clear the sun was setting before her eyes. we all need to take responsibility for safety on the roads. when we don't those walking and riding bikes die. cops are good for an eventual postmortem at taxpayer expense. if you depend on them for road safety you might end up a killer or killed.

Re: Another Pedestrian Accident
It seems that mostly what I've read is that there's "too much enforcement" in Sebastopol. Lots of complaints about being stopped and or ticketed. You really can't have it both ways.
It's all about "who" we can blame. Sometimes it's actually no one's fault. I prefer not to be on the road when the sun is still setting. It can be blinding. All drivers are aware of this, and might try staying off the road at these times, if at all possible.
