How do I remove stickers from CD cases?
I have some CDs with stickers that don't come off easily. Even scraping with a razor blade has been largely ineffective. How can I remove the stickers without destroying the plastic CD cases? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Try WD-40 ... always worked for me ....

Thanks for the suggestions, folks. The WD-40 worked, once I realized I had to leave it on for a minute or two before picking/scrubbing the sticker and adhesive off.

I haven't tried it myself, but I have heard that the stuff sold to spray on to stains before you put clothes into the washing machine is good for removing stickers. Barrie

Try Vinegar or Lemon lime juice soak or spray

To remove stickers from glass I use spray oil, either WD40 or even cooking spray. Works like a jewel! Just spray it on and let it sit there for a few.... Apply some warm/hot water and mild soap.

Try using rubbing alcohol.

Here is a little known trick that works and dont cost a dime.
rub your finger around your nose where it meets your face (near the end of your nose) and get some of the oil on your finger and clean it off with that. Then just wipe off the residue with a paper towel.

That snot right, it's simply as plain as the oil on your face.
Re: How do I remove stickers from CD cases?
WD 40 works well, but so does almost any oil. Try using one that doesn't have toxic fumes, like cooking spray. The key is to let it sit for a few minutes.

Don't scrape with the razor blade; simply use the blade to slice the sticker along edge/seam of the case . Case will open and then you can remove the sticker halves by peeling with your finger nail. So much better than gumming up the case with oil or gook.

Dixon, you have to learn WHEN to keep your mouth shut. He was talking about nose oil which accumulates in the little creases where the nose flares. The Native Americans used nose oil to shine their (Catlinite) peace pipes to remove the chalky surface to make them have a sheen.

A good general principle, Dorothy, but gee whiz--I was just joking! That's why I appended the little winking icon.

I thought that was an icon of a smiley-guy squinching his nose to produce sticker remover.

It's great that there are so many options for removing stickers. Finger nails are good, if you have them. :wink2:

Orange oil/fish oil/wd40 all work great. I've also heard peanut butter works, I haven't tried that yet.

Peanut butter might work, but then you have a mess to clean....a mixture of label and peanut butter. Fun stuff!
