Dance of the Vajra that Benefits Beings Course

    Dzogchen Community West Coast presents:
Dance of the Vajra that Benefits Beings
    Beginner’s Course with Catherine Diamond

    * Course in Cotati. Practice groups forming in Cotati and Occidental

The Vajra Dance is a meditation in movement. The simple, slow and fluid movements relax the body, clear the mind, and relieve the tensions of our daily life. Through dancing we activate and coordinate specific energy points in our body according to an ancient knowledge of channels and chakras. In this way the Vajra Dance dissolves energy blocks, harmonizes the three main aspects of our being – body, energy and mind – and develops presence and awareness.

The Dance of the Vajra is part of the Dzogchen Teachings. Since 1991, Chögyal Namkhai Norbu, recognized as a living master of Dzogchen, has taught four different Vajra Dances. These dances are practiced worldwide in the various centers of the International Dzogchen Community. More information: VajraDance.net

This course is open to anyone; no prior experience is necessary. Those who already know the Dance of the Vajra that Benefits Beings are welcome to attend the entire course or drop in for one or more sessions to deepen their experience.

Native Plant Habitat Garden Installation at McNear Elementary

Want to help be a part of creating a habitat that will continue for generations to come?

Join Daily Acts and McNear Elementary as we create a native plant habitat garden for students, parents, and of course local wildlife to benefit from for years to come. During this work day we will plant a habitat garden in a previously sheet mulched area incorporating various California native plants and pollinator attracting species, making this an ideal space for outdoor education, observation and enjoyment. Participants will learn about the different native and drought-tolerant plants that are appropriate for our climate and soils, how to install drip irrigation, and other sustainable landscape techniques that are beneficial to incorporate in a garden.

We will also be working to sheet mulch another section of under-utilized lawn in preparation for the expansion of this native garden in the fall. The process of sheet mulching or composting the lawn in place, will help reduce water usage on campus while building healthy soil for future planting - a real win-win.

We hope you can join us for this opportunity to gain some new garden skills, get your hands dirty and help out a local school!
