It occurs to me that in these United States, "aiding the enemy" is understood as subverting the rule of law as defined in the US Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Therefore, I propose that all loyal citizens of the republic add the following footer to their electronic correspondence. This will serve as legal notice that criminals engaging in illegal surveillance or "other things," may face the legal persecution currently being inflicted upon Bradley Manning.

A fair reading of US Code Section 904 makes it clear that it is illegal to communicate with Bush, Cheney, Obama, Rumsfeld, Kissinger, and others who have subverted the rule of law and the will of the people. That is an unfortunate effect of this overreaching law. Be that as it may, it is the law of the land. May criminals high and low tremble in their limousines.

Notice: The privacy of this correspondence is fully protected by US Code - Section 904: Any person who - (1) aids, or attempts to aid, the enemy with arms, ammunition, supplies, money, or other things; or (2) without proper authority, knowingly harbors or protects or gives intelligence to, or communicates or corresponds with or holds any intercourse with the enemy, either directly or indirectly; shall suffer death or such other punishment as a court-martial or military commission may direct. This section does not apply to a military commission established under chapter 47A of this title.

For the purposes of prosecution "aiding the enemy" shall be defined as any action or inaction that subverts the rule of law as established by the US Constitution and Bill of Rights. https://codes.lp.findlaw.com/uscode/10/A/II/47/X/904

Edit: I should add that this post was meant to be ironic--irony being the best form of humor to deploy against overwhelming power. Directing their own illegal laws against those who stole our country is futile but it does expose the Emperor's nakedness. Plus, it's a fun way to "smile back at the ruling classes."
