Yesterday I started getting emails from people I don't know asking me to unsubscribe them from an email listing called "[email protected]" I had received one email before that from "[email protected]" That person, Baghwan, welcomed me to the mailing list that I know I did not sign up for. I DID UNSUBSCRIBE to several emailing lists yesterday most of which were political but one was "spiritual". Has anyone heard of this "Enlightenment" list. I have not clicked on any of their (numerous) choices and suggestions re how to "manage" or "unsubscribe" as I felt intuitively that it was a scam. So, now, somehow, other people are emailing me to tell me to fix it because they are getting on this same emailing list. But, I don't know any of these people who are emailing me. They are not on any of my lists and are not in my address book.
Something fishy. I believe these people asking to get off the list are actually the same phoney "enlightenment" people trying to get me to click into their scam. I have reset my junk filter but that is time consuming to re-train my iBook to get rid of these unwanted emails.
Any helpful suggestions out there? Some emails mention Yahoo groups.

Problem has been solved. It was an Australian ISP (for an email list I do belong to) that was preparing a new format and someone accidentally clicked a button too soon before it was ready and it sent muchos emails errantly. Doesn't that "clicking a button too soon" sound familiar. I've certainly done it. Thanks for the replies a couple people made to me.
