Hmm, a reasonable reliable mechanic? maybe you'll find one but if not, here's a tip, it's really easy to change an alternator.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfX-TyuEBOw A couple of wires, a couple of bolts...this video shows how. beware of the sound at the beginning.
