The Sonoma County Gazette's front page features an interesting article about the Gateway Project which is moving along at break-way speed. This project is a collaboration of Regional Parks, LandPaths, Sonoma County Ag Preservation and Open Space District and Mendocino Redwood Company. Additionally, there is private funding involved. It's intent is to draw in a massive amount of tourism. This project is designed to capitalize on a major windfall from the "Intergovernmental Mitgation Agreement between the County of Sonoma and the Federated Indians of Graton Racheria" which was approved by The Board of Supervisors in October 2012.
Clearly there are some positive aspects but there are also some negative ones as well.
As Sonoma County residents we will be effected by this project.
How has this gotten so far without our input?
