Hi!

I just signed the petition "Caltrans, USFWS, California Department of
Fish & Wildlife: Take down the bird-killing netting under the Petaluma
River Bridge" on Change.org.

It's important. Will you sign it too? Here's the link:

Thanks!

Hello Wildflower,
I think this post should be in a category that more people will see; as it concerns our local wildlife rather than our pets.

The relegation of animals to a category called "Critters" (I dont know if it's still that way because I don't check into wacco much anymore) is indicative of the lack of importance shown to animals on this website. I met an animal rights activist here who faced an uphill and losing battle getting an appropriate space for animal rights issues rather than shunting posts of her important work to a rarely viewed category. As an environmentalist, I am concerned about preserving wild animals in particular. We posted our feelings that animals needed more support than an obscure category called Critters and experienced what I would call harassment for our views by an insider. They tried to embarrass us but indeed, in my eyes, they were the embarrassment for our community. I stopped most posting and reading here after that. I totally agree with you, there should be more activism on the site's part to help people who want to help animals rather than making it more difficult. :owl:
