Has anyone continued to not pay their smart meter opt-out fees over a period of time? Do you know if PG&E will actually turn off my electricity even though my bill is always paid in full minus the opt-out charges? I just received a 15-day notice, so I have a few days to decide if I absolutely must cave and pay these ludicrous and extortionate opt-out fees. I'm up to $105 ($75 for initial fee and $10 a month). Crazy. Since my service bill is always paid in full, I wondered whether they can shut off my power if it's only admin fees. Thanks for sharing any guidance or experiences.
As far as I know, people have been threatened and given shut-off notices, but no one has had their electricity turned off by PG&E for refusing to pay opt-out fees. Sandi, www.emfsafetynetwork.org (https://www.emfsafetynetwork.org)
