Our motto: Keeping Sebastopol green, local, friendly and artistic.
If the following priorities resonate for you, you may want to join the Cittaslow Sebastopol Steering Committee.
• Support locally made products and agriculture
• Celebrate our culture and history
• Share the joys of our community with visitors and amongst ourselves
• Integrate technologies for improved well being
• Promote the health of our environment
• Develop community-friendly infrastructure
More information, and the online application is available at www.cittaslowsebastopol.org/scapplication (https://www.cittaslowsebastopol.org/scapplication).
Cittaslow Sebastopol is an ad hoc committee of the city and a project of the Sebastopol Community Cultural Center. It is also a part of the national and international Cittaslow ("Slow City") network.
The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, 3/25.
Applicants need to live, work, own property or a business in Sebastopol, OR feel that Sebastopol is their primary community. We ask for a 3 hours a week and an 18 month commitment. We are a virtual organization, so to participate you need to be willing to use email and Google Docs.
Many of you may know Cittaslow Sebastopol (https://www.facebook.com/CittaslowSebastopol) from our active role in helping the Planning Commission gather community input in preparation for the General Plan Update. We also do things like help Slow Food Russian River support biodiversity and local apple farmers through educational programs featuring our local hero: the Gravenstein Apple! Other projects include assisting Sebastopol World Friends with their Sustainable Development program, working with the downtown merchants to promote Sebastopol as a "slow travel" destination, collaborating with Farm Trails to help promote Farm Stay opportunities in West County.
If you have a vision for Sebastopol, consider applying at the leadership level. We get things done!
