Looking for cohousing in Sonoma County

A friend of mine is looking for cohousing projects in Sonoma County. I told him that there is one on Yulupa Ave. in Santa Rosa, another one in Cotati, called Frog's Song.

If anyone here could please advise me on the cohousing projects available in Sonoma County I would greatly appreciate it.

PS: My friend also has some interest in the old style communes, if there are any in Sonoma County. I heard a long time ago that there was one called "Star Light" or "Star Ranch." Anymore info on that or any others?

Your friend is a little late.
That was Morning Star on Graton Road, about 1968-1972.
Access old Press Democrat stories through the Sonoma County Library website for that one.

He's probably thinking of Lou Gottleib's Morningstar Ranch between Graton and Occidental. Sadly, he's about forty years too late for that one.

And there was also Bill Wheeler's ranch.

Art and Sandy Kopecky (west Sonoma county residents) wrote a great book called Leaving New Buffalo.

In the PD articles mentioned above you can read how the county brought in the bull dozers and completely demolished the buildings the people were living in.


He's probably thinking of Lou Gottleib's Morningstar Ranch between Graton and Occidental. Sadly, he's about forty years too late for that one.

There's Two Acre Wood in Sebastopol, heading West out Bodega Hwy on Robinson Road (just about a mile out of town, maybe less).
