Local Abundance

Moving down from the Northwest, I am used to late fall and winter being a time where nearly everything except the evergreens go dormant or die. I am so delighted to have people give me hand-picked grapefruits from their yards... and lemons, persimmons, and more. I just brought in my last tomatoes! I helped shuck a bunch of walnuts (well okay, I could have done walnuts in High Prairie, Washington or Hood River, Oregon, but still...).

I have always treasured the earth's bounty, but I am not used to being able to enjoy it all year long. This is wonderful! And food grown locally and harvested personally is such a special gift! Bright Blessings!
