So you thought Hurricane Sandy was rough. Wait until more debris from Fukushima arrives, which is very likely. The following is from physician Carol Wolman.
Dear Friends,
https://www.change.org/petitions/senators-boxer-and-feinstein-investigate-the-ongoing-danger-from-the-fukushima-nuclear-reactors (https://www.change.org/petitions/senators-boxer-and-feinstein-investigate-the-ongoing-danger-from-the-fukushima-nuclear-reactors)
The situation at Fukushima Daiichi, the nuclear reactor complex damaged on 3/11/11, remains precarious. While some progress is being made on cleaning up and stabilizing the site, there are emergencies of one kind or another almost every day- stuck valves, pumps not operating, temperatures rising, hydrogen levels rising, fires. Global warming is increasing the intensity of storms, as Sandy let us know. Two supertyphoons have hit near Fukushima so far this year
How safe is Fukushima Daiichi now? TEPCO, Tokyo Electric Company, which runs the plant and the cleanup, assures us it could now withstand another 9.0 earthquake, the magnitude of the 3/11/11 disaster. https://www.neimagazine.com/story.asp?storyCode=2059537 Arne Gunderson of Fairewinds, a nuclear engineer, estimates the weakened building of Unit 4, which supports the spent fuel pool that everyone is worried about, could not withstand more than a 7.5 earthquake without toppling, and draining the pool. https://www.fairewinds.org/content/fukushima-daiichi-truth-and-future This would lead to a catastrophic nuclear fire that could wipe out life on earth. Meanwhile, the number of earthquakes in the region has greatly increased. Every shake rattles the weakened pipes and bolts of the damaged buildings. Below is a list of earthquakes at Fukushima Daiichi so far this year.
