I'm trying to investigate an organization that is receiving donations and Katie Couric is listed as co-founder of the group.
Could anyone please post what they know about Katie Couric and what her political leanings are?

Apparently, Katie Couric helped co-found a group called, "Stand Up to Cancer." From what I have been able to find out it appears to be a legitimate organization although I'm not 100% sure.
Furthermore, Safeway has supposedly partnered with 'Stand Up' to raise money for "Dream Teams of scientists working to find a cure for cancer." I looked at Stand Up's website and it appears to be on the level but still kind of weird. Safeway is practically harassing its customers to donate money and one of their employees said that this is the last month for the drive. I wanted to make sure that this was not a front operation for donating money to the Republican Party to elect Romney. So I began to do research although nothing I have found is absolutely conclusive. It does seem to be okay, at least on the surface.
