Hope everyone is aware that the Press Democrat has been ordered by its owners, Halifax Media Group
that it can NO LONGER MAKE ANY POLITAL ENDORSEMENTS OF CANDIDATES!!!!
The PD can now only make issues endorsements, but NO PEOPLE ENDORSEMENTS.

Is there any difference between the mid east rioters or Halifax?
No, because the result is the same: No freedom of the press

I am not renewing my subscription. Do the same, and encourage others to as well.
You are not paying the PD anymore.
YOU ARE PAYING HALIFAX TO CENSOR THE PD.

Pass it on. We have fought wars for freedom of the press and many have died for this foundation of freedom.
Do not pay Halifax one more dime to censor the PD and all the other 20 other papers in its stable.
Stop Corporate News Censorship.
Stop paying Halifax

Why are you so worried about who the PD or any other newspaper endorses? Aren't you capable of making up your mind without the paper's point of view? I have always tended to discount the newspaper's endorsements anyway, why should I like who Hearst or some other corporation likes? Also, why do you equate the pointed lack of endorsement to censorship? I've always felt that the role of the press is to evenhandedly report the news and let the populace digest it. Newspaper endorsements always struck me as a departure from this norm. Not endorsing candidates doesn't bother me a bit.

Well, good for you. I never said I need a newspaper to make decisions for me, nor did I write that I agree with their decisions, but when the two biggest local newspapers, PD and Petaluma AC, are ordered NOT to make endorsements by the 15th largest newspaper publisher in the nation, and that 34 other newspapers they own have been ordered the same, it is censorship. These papers have absolutely no right to interview candidates and make endorsements, and it doesn't not matter a rats butt whether you or anyone takes their suggestions.

If you don't get that 36 newspapers nationwide cannot make candidate endorsements because of a conservative media group, then don't complain when much of this country votes as it does with corporate approved information fed to the public.
