I just received three posts in a row (I get individual emails) from omosha (https://www.waccobb.net/forums/member.php?userid=206) for their painting ad :-|
- each email from a different category!
How can the individual email users not get redundant/duplicate posts?
Thanks,
-Bob

Hi Bob,
Yes, Barry has it in his guidelines that people should post in one category only. Please be patient as we get people through the learning curve.

It just happened again - this time by mykil (https://www.waccobb.net/forums/member.php?u=816)
Is there any way you can set up the email sends to send only the first post by a given user when duplicate posts are made to multiple categories? That would at least limit the redundancy.
Thanks,

Yes, I see that. I am sorry for the inconvenience. I have contacted the poster. There will be no new programinig issues taken on in the next month while Barry is on retreat.
Again, please be patient as we get everyone on board with the guidelines.

Hi Deb,
I can understand why some users would want to post to multiple categories since there's plenty of room for ambiguity trying to figure out what category (if any!) a particular post *ought* to belong to.
Given that, perhaps what needs to be in place is some sort of master menu for posting that had ALL the categories available. That way, a user could then add (using checkboxes for example) all the categories they wanted their post to go to, but only one email send would go out. That would save time for the user making the post too as they would not have to re-enter the info over and over selecting new categories.
anyhow...
Thanks,
-Bob

Hey everyone.
Just saw my name pop up so I thought I would chim in. Sorry if my paint doctors posts at all appeared spamy. That is not my intention or interest to hit people over the head w/ any advertising message.
I just want to get the word out of the type/quality painting services that I do offer as service to the community.
My apologies if it inundated your box w/ multiple messages.
I like the idea of having mutiple boxes that we could check for various categories and maybe the system could recoginize the one original post for its daily digest. I don't know how possible it is, but it is a good suggestion.
Cheers and all my love and support to the community.
I love this place.
Be well, -Brant

Hi Brant,
First let me point out that the discussion on this thread was from a year and a half ago!
I don't want to see redundant posts on the website or the digest. At the moment posts are monitored by me or a Waccoteer (volunteer) to guard against duplication. At somepoint there may be a software tool to assist us if there are resources available for that development.
