18299We would like to inform you about an inspiring new project that will help to build statewide support for Prop 37.

In September, artists in Sonoma County will create a beautiful, informative and unique art form called a “sidewalk storybook” to educate the public about the need to label foods with GMOs. This 200-foot long storybook will be drawn in vividly colored chalk on sidewalks in three Northern California cities: Petaluma, Santa Rosa and Healdsburg. The artists will create original art work to accompany an original fairytale titled “The Tale of Liberty and Justin.” To read the fairytale, and/or to donate to this project, visit the Sidewalk Storybook project at

The artists also will create a documentary video of the project that will show the creation of the “Sidewalk Storybook” along with interviews of passersby and local farmers. The video will be posted on YouTube and numerous Facebook pages to ensure that it goes viral. This community-building, family-oriented project will help to broaden support throughout the state for labeling foods that contain GMOs. We are encouraging Prop 37 supporters to reproduce the project in other cities and towns throughout California.
