Please take a minute to sign, even though you live in California. This petition is being hand delivered to Gov. Deal's desk in Georgia on 4/14 and we only have about 1700 signatures. The point is to show that people all over America are watching the Republican War on Women.
This bill HB 954 drops the number of weeks from 26 to 20 that a woman in Georgia may have an abortion. What is really heinous is it requires the doctors to try to deliver the fetus live and will imprison the doctor from 1 to 6 years for violating the law. The other serious impact is the first ultrasound at 18 weeks might show an abnormality but it isn't clear. Usually doctors and mothers wait until repeat pictures at upto 22 weeks to make a decision. With this 20 week law, mothers and doctors will be forced to make hasty abortion decisions based on unclear photos.
