Reports of possible problems with Kirkland Dog Food
Word is spreading fast of possible links to Kirkland canned dog foods (sold at Costco) to sick and dying dogs. No independent laboratory testing has been done on the food - yet. However I've emailed with one pet owner who lost two dogs believed to be linked to the canned food and have heard of several others.

Hopefully, most conscious pet parents know that the VAST MAJORITY of foods contain ingredients that are not healthy for animals. During the Chinese melamine scare, even the premium food makers were recalling their foods. Thankfully, Innova brand dog and cat foods were immune to the scare, since they know that their food ingredients are sourced completely from United States food sources.

Just something to think about.

There is no current recall on any Kirkland products. The last recall was in 2007....

"As of right now, one Kirkland dog food formula is listed on the FDA’s pet food recall website. This recall was initiated in 2007, so will not affect recent Kirkland dog food formulas. The product that was recalled was a canned formula variety pack. Kirkland recalled approximately 6.5 million cans. In order to make sure that your dog’s food is safe, it’s always highly recommended that you check the FDA’s pet food recall website. This will help you to stay updated on the latest pet food recall information."

All of the ingredients, except for one come from the USA and that one comes from Canada . I've fed Kirkland Chicken & Rice kibble for over 10 years and my dogs are extremely healthy & love eating it!
