CocaCola doesn't just make coke, so be aware that you may be
unknowingly supporting injustice against animals by using anything
to do with this company.

If you don't have time to read all of this, scroll to the last two highlighted paragraphs.

I receceived this in my email today:

My name is Lee, and I'm a muckraker for the Republic Report, the just-launched news website from United Republic/Get Money Out dedicated to exposing political corruption.

What I'm finding every day is shocking — the power of money pollutes our air and water, keeps millions of us addicted to drugs, and takes away our civil rights. Money in politics causes war, pestilence, and famine. This isn't an exaggeration — last week I was able to expose that the association representing unmanned drones sees increased global conflict as a business opportunity and views civil rights as an obstacle to growth and profit.

I'd like you to sign up to get our daily digest, and share our best stories with your friends. Here's why: If enough of us see what's going on and make some noise, policy-makers will respond. So I'm poring through filings every day because this stuff isn't exactly hidden, if you know where to look.

Of course, I promised you animal stories. So here they are: In Utah, Rep. John Mathis introduced a bill that would criminalize individuals who take undercover video footage at factory farms. And when talking about the bill at a hearing, he spoke of his "good friends" in agribusiness who had shown up at the hearing. They were also, of course, campaign contributors.

We've also found that Coca Cola enlisted a private CIA-style firm called Stratfor to investigate the animal rights group PETA (the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). Going after activists who stand up for humane treatment of animals is a surefire way of ensuring that cruel, unhygienic, and dangerous behavior continues. There's a wall of cruel cash standing in the way of a better world.

Sincerely,
Lee

P.S. Want to support our work? United Republic is funded by people like you — no corporate contributions, no big money pollution. Every dollar goes a long way. Please chip in here... we can't get money out of politics unless you put money into supporting this crucial work.

Looks like another promising source of unsanitized news. Thanks Sandy.
