Hi Everyone,
I am happy to say that I won one of the 5 district five seats on the Sonoma County Democratic Central Committee in yesterday's election. I am glad I will be able to continue trying to make a difference as part of the committee. For those of you who voted for me, Thanks:).
But now I need an alternate. The person who I had asked to be my alternate also won a seat on the committee, leaving me with no alternate. This is a chance for you to make a difference and become more involved in politics. You can make a difference.
What does it entail? you might ask. That is simple, the alternate should have similar views as the member they will represent (in this case very progressive, liberal, values people over profits, values environment over profits, etc.) You can look at my web page (https://www.nicoleanddebbie.com/who/nicole/scdcc/member.html) for more details. You dont have to be lock step with me just in the right neighborhood. You need to be willing to commit about 5 to 10 hours a month to Committee work. You must attend the regular meetings held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in Santa Rosa at 7pm-9pm AND attend, be a member of and participate in atleast one of the standing committees. (Finance, Public Relations, Candidate Search and Development, Community Outreach or Issues and Legislation). If I am present, you do not vote on issues during the meeting, if I am absent you do vote. So you have to attend all the meetings to be in a position to vote.
How do you qualify?
You must live in district 5, see map for districts (https://www.sonoma-county.org/board/district.htm), but it is basically West County. You must be a registered Democrat in District 5.
That's about it. If you are interested, Please let me know.
