The delightful females referred to above MUST be geese of the Toulouse persuasion.
I 've had my small flock of Toulouse for about twenty five years now, and this is the first time the flock has become unbalanced in the sense that there are more ganders than geese. This is not good for the lone female, whose two hatchlings turned out to be Male! Also, one female was attacked (in daylight) by a fox last September and we lost her. Now with the breeding season coming, my delightful males need mates. Already they are restive when staying in their fortress at night. The close quarters are stimulating competition, I think. Also, the Spring weather is fooling them into thinking it's time to get possessive and I'm thinking they might soon be fighting.
So I'm looking for 3 or four females to trade for or to purchase or to adopt, whatever is called for. Ordinarily they are a very happy flock. They have enough room to roam and protected places to nest and plenty of pools to swim in and we love them. This will be a good home for the new ladies.
