I've heard Diaspora is possibly a good alternative to Facebook, as the information you share is not stored in the cloud, but on your own computer, which is somewhat more secure. A couple months ago, one of the 4 young founders of Diaspora, a 21 year old, was found dead in mysterious circumstances. Just another day in the CIA?

p.s. Barry, maybe it's time to revisit the idea of putting your favorite post of the day on Facebook? I certainly wouldn't want any of mine on there. Google logging everything written here is bad enough.

I heard this claim once before. Who's to say that if someone joins the Chinese-based social networking site that the Chinese government wouldn't commandeer the data collected on this site and use the information for surveillance purposes?
The video is from The Onion, but everything the "spies" say about FB's usefulness to the CIA & FBI is true.

Silly humans! OF COURSE these things are mined for data; why do you think Google is worth so much.
I once found my name in a Chinese database; next to it was "smother". Not sure if that was code for single mother, or a directive to silence me for good.

Too late; I suggest we all out everyone progressive so "they" can see we are not the fringe anymore; we are the majority. Then maybe they will make changes to win our business and our vote!
