Simple way to stop CVS/Chase from building their little monstrosity is to "Move your Perscription" and "Move your Money" to Chase CVS OUT!
What a great gift to give "Oh! Little Town Sebastopol" For Solstice.

By the way, even if you don't "celebrate" the return of the Sun as the days start to grow longer, it would be scientifcally accurate to recognize the reality of the physical phenomenon.
Instead of that blank look that comes over religious folks when you say Solstice you might consider sharing the story of how the days get shorter and shorter and at Solstice, the Sun rises higher in the sky and the days grow longer. What a perfect metaphor for our times. "Even though this is the darkest hour, no one can hold back the dawn". Out of the dark is born the light, ask any star in the night.
Sing it Pagans, Sing it Scientists, Sing it to your children, parents, its an actual happening that kids need to know and understand.
So strike up the band in the plaza square, and shutdown the corporations!
Or the sweet way we Sebastopolians like to say it, "Shop local, think Global!"
