Here's a way to get a dose of spiritual food for thought, without making your carbon footprint much larger; by listening to the service on the radio. It's on the web here; or 8:30 Sunday mornings on KSRO 1350 AM, in the Sonoma County area; KSRO is also online.
My son and I had a delightful time sharing Thanksgiving there with the other members; and I do go for the social connection from time to time.
Still I like having the ritual, and routine of finding tools to re-tune my spirit; which I can do in my PJ's, from a warm bed.
I put the newspaper down for 30 minutes and practice the art of active listening. This is a challenge for me; because the material is so rich, I tend to find myself thinking about it, when Edward is on to the next gem.
With so many visual, and other distractions in the world these days; I like slowing down for a bit. By aiming my senses through just listening, as I absorb the information; it improves my concentration; and thus retention.
Thanks to the CSL Santa Rosa, for making the radio, internet; and TV broadcasts happen for those unable to attend, or who just like the idea of Green Church.
I hope others will contribute to keep the airing of your services on KSRO going. Especially after the great loss of funds from the recent embezzlement.
They also have a beautiful bookstore at the church, and online bookstore:
