When I find a flier on my windshield under my wiper, or tossed on my doorstep or put in my mailbox, it pisses me off. And causes me to firmly remember to never patronize that merchant/service, ever.

Yeah it can be annoying which is why I'm asking. Apparently it is illegal in Petaluma but it is a way to really Target your demographic in some cases....ie...I was down in Mill Valley and noticed a big soccer event with lots of kids and someone had put flyers for something on the vehicles. My only other alternative is to get a big bright yellow sign made and stand at various spots like the Civic Center Farmers Market which is probably what I'll wind up doing. Hard to reach your market sometimes even when you really try lots of approaches.
Enjoy your Wintry Weekend Miles.....thx

Have you ever phoned an advertiser and told them you don't like that method? I doubt most business owners
realize some people dislike it so much.

I think it's illegal in Santa Rosa and Sebastopol because I've gotten in trouble for it in both places. One time shot - I don't do it regularly! so don't hate me.

What is annoying and a total waste is all the trash from franchises, in my mailbox daily. In defense of small local business' that don't have a large advertising budget to spend on newspaper, radio and TV ads, and must be creative in order to let people know about their business or service, handbills and doorhangers and bulletin boards are the way to go. I have a feeling that corporate media has something to do with the laws passed that keep advertising money funelled into their pockets.
