Wednesday, Nov. 2nd, Oakland General Strike
Three mass gatherings at 14th and Broadway in downtown Oakland: 9:00 a.m., Noon, and 5:00 p.m.
This coming Wednesday, November 2, those in the greater Oakland area will have a chance to make an extremely powerful statement by participating in the Oakland General Strike. We will be using one of the most powerful tools available to we the people --- but a tool which has nopt actually been exercised in this country for over 60 years, since we last used it here in Oakland in 1946. The Occupy Wall Street movement and Occupy Oakland have now presented each of us with a vital moral choice: Do we participate in the Oakland General Strike and help shift the direction of this country? Or do we allow giant corporations and the ultra-wealthy ever more free license to plunder the resources and wealth of this nation and of our world?
This is how you can participate: Do not go to work
Do not go to school
Or at least do everything you can to minimize those activities
Do not patronize any banks or other corporations on Wednesday
Instead go to 14th and Broadway in downtown Oakland (near the 12th St. BART station). And if you can't make it there, go to City Hall in Santa Rosa and protest/strike there. If we now join together, we shall not fail with the great task before us.

Friday, Nov. 4th, Occupy Santa Rosa Solidarity Sleepover
Allies in the local unions are organizing a "solidarity sleepover" this Friday night and Occupy Santa Rosa at City Hall. Come help us set up tents and join workers in standing up against the 1%!

Saturday, Nov. 5th, Move Our Money Day at Occupy Santa Rosa
We are joining a national day of action to MOVE OUR MONEY out of the Wall St. banks, and into our local banks and credit unions.

8:30 a.m. - Meet at City Hall, 100 Santa Rosa Ave., Santa Rosa, then set up picket lines in front of big Wall St. banks downtown (banks open at 9:00 a.m.). We will have pickets in front of Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo, and Citibank. We will peacefully assemble and hand out information to customers, urging them to move their money into local banks and credit unions.

10:00 a.m. - Rally at City Hall (pickets will be ongoing). There will be several short speakers, followed by a short march to re-enforce the picket lines at the banks. People will give testimonies about how they have been affected by foreclosures and other abuses by the big banks.

2:00 p.m. - Chase, Bank of America and Citibank will close for the day. The picket lines at these banks will all convene on Wells Fargo to form one massive protest there, until 6:00 p.m., when they close. There will be music and speakers throughout the day.

This Saturday we stand up against the banks that gambled with our money, crashed our economy, and made us pay the price. This Saturday we say ENOUGH!
