Unfortunately, Ray is no longer with us. He passed on October 17, 2011 at the age of 59. He suffered from the fast onset and rapid progression of disease. Ray chose to leave this world with dignity and believed he was going into the vortex. We wish him a speedy and joyous transition to an afterlife free of pain.

A memorial celebration is planned for Saturday, November 12 from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. It will be held at the Glaser Center in Santa Rosa, also the home of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation. The address is 547 Mendocino Avenue; it is between 7th and 10th Streets with parking in a lot with access behind the Glaser Center. We hope you will join with the numerous members of Ray’s tribe in celebrating his life and sharing your memories of him.

A memorial website for Ray Gorman is available at https://www.raygorman.blogspot.com (https://www.raygorman.blogspot.com/).
Your memories will be a fitting tribute, as well as a gift to all who knew and loved him. The simplest way to post is to add a comment to an existing post. You can also post on his Facebook page, where you can add photos as well.

If Ray wanted to be remembered for anything, it is as "Keeper of the Tribe." He worked to stay connected to others, all of those whom he loved, and to nurture their connections to each other. He was indeed Keeper of the Tribe, as witnessed by the many lives that he touched. Ray was loving and understanding -- with a good heart, compassion, and sage advice for others. Many of Ray’s friends say that he changed their lives. He was that kind of man.

If you feel moved to contribute, donations are still being accepted for celebration expenses. They can be sent via check or Paypal. Any amount would be appreciated. You can send a check to Rebecca Stern, 4550 Feliz Creek, Hopland CA 95449. Alternatively, you can email Roberta Ryan at [email protected] with the amount you would like to donate. She will send you a Paypal invoice that allows you to use your credit card or bank account to donate the amount you specified. Many thanks for your consideration. Flowers and cards can be sent to Rebecca, Steve, and Chris (Ray’s son) Stern at the address above.

Ray (Carl) Gorman was born on January 2, 1952 and left us on October 17. Ray will be greatly missed but will always be alive in our hearts. Spirit speed you on your new journey, Ray!
