BRING YOUR PET TO BE BLESSED AT
FORESTVILLE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

As autumn arrives, people in various places may notice something odd. A procession of animals, everything from dogs and cats to hamsters and even horses, is led to local churches for a special ceremony called the Blessing of Pets. This custom is conducted in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures. It's held each year on or near Oct. 4 which is the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi.
Today's blessing of the pets will be held on the front steps of the church
on a walk-in basis between 12noon and 1pm.
