Help with cancelling AOL email

Hi,

A friend has an email acct. with AOL that he doesn't use but someone is using it to distribute spam. I am one of the recipients of this spam. He is having trouble figuring out how to cancel the email address as he gets stuck in a loop that gets him nowhere. I'm wondering if anyone out there has had to do this and knows the path of least resistance to get the job done.

Truthfully it would be easiest to call them. Tell them why you are deleting the account so they know a spammer is using it. They can easily delete it for you. I can find a phone number if you want.

You don't need to cancel your aol account. My accountwas also hacked. Just change your password and email aol re the problem.
