This seems complex for even me....a bonafide smarty pants. :hmmm: Ok, let's give it a go.

OK, let me try again.... Quotes are enclosed in a matching set a of tags enclosed in square brackets. I'll use curly brackets "{ }" instead of square brackets "[ ]" so as not to trigger actual quoting in this post outside of the examples.

The basic quote format is {quote}some text to quote{/quote}. Note the forward slash "/" in the close quote tag (remember, you'll use square brackets rather than curly ones).

So the above sample quote would look like this:

some text to quote

This is what you will get if you just highlight some (pasted in?) text and click the https://www.waccobb.net/forums/images/editor/quote.gif icon.

To add the poster's name, just add it with a preceding "=" like this: {quote=Barry}some text to quote{/quote} which yields:

Then, to add a link to the post that the quote came from, add the postid preceeded by a semicolon, like this: {quote=Barry;61774 }some text to quote{/quote} which yields:

Wow, I got that by doing this [QUOTE=Barry]
