Hi friends, Like many of us, I was bummed to see the old mural go. Yes, it was fading and on its way out, but still dear to us. GOOD NEWS: it will return in new and improved form, just like the store itself has returned new and improved. Before I new that a new mural is coming I thought we all could suggest some creative ideas. Since Marco, the new owner, is quite spiritual in a Catholic kind of way, I thought, what about a Virgin of Guadalupe with 8 arms like a Hindu goddess holding various tools and hardware? That didn't go over too well. ;-) He explained that the old guy in the mural was Louis Gonella, the Dad of the owners. Since his wife Dolores also has died since that first mural was painted, she is supposed to be in the new mural too. (I still think there's room for some goddess to bless the scene from above!) Anyway, let Marco know what you think and support your local hardware store so it can survive in this incarnation better than in the previous one. It would be a shame to loose that business in town.
